Red Cliff is a Chinese epic film based on the historical events of the Battle of Red Cliffs. Big budget, big director (John Woo), big stars (Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and many more).There are two kind of films that I believe the Chinese film makers are very proud of - martial arts and epic/war. Both are always centered on historical figures and events. Red Cliff is probably one of the most promoted epic film to date.
